activated in you?

in reading the book, BTM, I discovered that we are all run by our Worldviews. A Worldview is how we believe the world works. This belief is usually given to us by our environment when we are young.

What is the story you're telling yourself about this discovery?

The Worldview that was installed into my mind so far has not allowed me to find the success I crave. Subconsciously I have been running away from becoming a Man. I have been running away from the idea that being a Man means killing myself working as a cog for sixty years in someone else's business, having kids but only seeing them for an hour at night when I'm too exhausted to be present with them, and being ok with the 50/50 chance (80/20 in the OC) that my wife will divorce me and take away my assets and my kids if I ever raise my voice in my own household. That's not the American dream. That's the American nightmare.

Describe the single word feelings that arise for you when you tell yourself that story?

Repulsion

Describe the specific thoughts and actions that arise for you when you tell yourself this story?

In questioning this worldview, I have begun thinking there must be a better way to live. I must take a stand and literally declare my independence from this worldview. I must install a new worldview, one of My choosing, one that will propel me forward and give me the kind of life that would be impossible with the old worldview.

Stepping back from what you have discovered, why has this discovery been extremely positive?

Discovering that I can choose my own worldview is a freeing and powerful feeling. I can choose what I believe. I can choose what's possible for me to do. I can choose what's possible for me to have.

Looking at how positive this discovery trigger has been, what is the singular lesson about life you are taking from this Stack?

The lesson I've learned is that my worldview can either keep me a slave or it can give me freedom.

I can apply this lesson by rejecting the way I've been doing business and deciding on a new model. I must declare independence from the way I used to view bringing value to the marketplace. In freeing myself from my old worldview, I can choose the way I want to live and the way I want to serve the world. My old worldview was not working, so it's time I adopt a new worldview.

What is the most significant REVELATION, or INSIGHT, that you are leaving this Discover Stack with? Why do you feel that way?

If something is not working, then I have the power to change it. I am not a victim of circumstance, I am the creator of my life.
