When you were in 3rd grade, you received a guitar for Christmas. So did Jeff. The only problem was, he was instantly better than you. He took to it so fast, leaving you to feel stupid and embarrassed. You stopped trying to learn and you started goofing off with the instrument, focusing on posing with it and jumping of amplifiers instead of putting the work in. You gave up.

You are the Center of the Universe. Everything you see revolves around You. Now light this place up with your warmth, enthusiasm, and drive. It doesn't matter if someone else is excelling. Good for them. Be happy for them and tell them "good job!" But find your truth too and tell it to the world. Find your notes and play them as only you can. Play your own song, and don't ever stop playing it. The world wants to hear what you have to say. The world wants to hear what you have to play. Never stop rocking.
