Seek and Ye Shall Find

The first time you stepped on a stage, you were 9 years old. You weren't nervous, you weren't thinking about anything at all. What you were doing was feeling the moment. You were singing an old Elvis song "Are You Lonesome Tonight," and you were horribly out of tune. You were delightfully raw and unrefined. You looked around and saw all the kids who had taken voice lessons and had training, and they looked at you with awe as you continued your song. The audience felt something different in you than any one else. You Were raw and real, and you knew the audience was with you, but at the same time you didn't care. This was about you. This was about bringing your gift to the world. This is what you were born to do. Why would you ever let this go?

The resource you were studying today was 12 Rules for Life p.16 "The ancient part of your brain specialized for assessing dominance watches how you are treated by other people. On that evidence, it renders a determination of your value and assigns you a status. If you are judged by your peers as of little worth, the counter restricts serotonin availability.

You discovered during your study session that if you have high status the counter's cold, reptilian mechanics assume that your niche is secure, productive, and safe, and that you are well-buttressed with social support.

Why do you feel this specific discovery was significant? You must stand tall and straight. You must SEEK OUT EVIDENCE that your peers find you worthy because if you seek out evidence to prove that you are worthy, then life will be easy, profitable, and productive.

Seek and ye shall find. When you seek out and find evidence that your peers see you as worthy, then you Win this game of life.
